Week 2

During last class, I heard that Esther would like to do a VR experience as well so I asked her after class if she would like to team up. Both of us believes that for a VR project like this two people can boost up more potiential. After acknowledging each other's vision and requirement, we decided to team-up

So our first-final idea for the senior project is we are going to build up VR world(s) around the question of "What is the reality?". In our meeting on Friday, we initially decided we are going to include a dystopia world, a utopia and a reality world by using Unity. Interestingly, these worlds are going to be messed up. Which is, traditionally good, hopeful things will happen in the dystopia world; bad, evil things will happen in the utopia world and harsh, immoral things will happen in the reality world. Corresponding to our key logic: When you criticize the reality, will the reality change to what you want? When you escape to your Utopia, will there always be good, hopeful things? When you suffer in your nightmare, does it means there will never be hope? All these logic aims to the question "What is the reality?" That becomes an open ended question to everyone who is going to experience our project. Do you think it is reality? Or can you actually define what reality is?

In the second part of our meeting, we fundamentally planned the interaction, the game mode and linear narrative (instead of open world experience). And for the weekends we will each find references (Tech/visual) and continue complete our world view. Since both of Esther and I are the first time doing a VR project, we think it would be challenging but also interesting.
